ICL Group attends panel meeting by Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan and says it is "promoting IT import substitution in the republic"
The annual board meeting of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications, and Mass Media of the Republic of Tatarstan, dedicated to the achievements of 2023 and plans for 2024, took place on January 19 at the Bashir Rameyev IT Park in Kazan. During the event, ICL Group showcased its new capabilities in fostering digital sovereignty for businesses and government bodies in the region.
Ruslan Vagizov, director of ICL Services, highlighted the crucial role of developing import-substituted IT in the republic. He attended an exhibition held as part of the meeting and explained to the distinguished guests how, in collaboration with Astra Group, they have devised a comprehensive strategy for 2024 to introduce and maintain digital products such as operating systems, office suites, databases, and hardware in the IT infrastructures of organizations in Tatarstan.
"For us, 2023 was a year of trials and novel work approaches. By merging our vast experience in both Russian and international markets with Astra Group's expertise in creating operating systems and infrastructure products, we are now prepared to provide our clients with a platform for digital sovereignty. I am confident that this synergy in IT development will elevate the digital economy of the Republic of Tatarstan to a new level," stated Ruslan Vagizov.
At the technology achievements exhibition, ICL System Technologies introduced modular hardware and software suites as a unified domestic product, combining the ICL Techno hardware platform with partner software solutions to enhance productivity while reducing costs. Additionally, visitors had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with ICL Techno's equipment, including all-in-one PCs, monitors, system units, motherboards, and ICL Raybook laptops featuring pre-installed Astra Linux operating system and a fully set up workstation.
