Microsoft ® Windows ® OS family printing subsystem is highly functional. However, it is impossible to maintain an audit trail of documents that are printed out.

The PrintControl system was developed to maintain such an audit trail. The PrintControl System allows restoring the history of documents printed in the company, identifying documents that contain a certain phrase, marking up every single printed page and archiving documents printed out. Pages saved in the archive as images can be viewed and reprinted. and the phrase search can be accomplished.

Commercially available products can mark up only those documents that are printed out by a very limited number of applications, such as Microsoft ® Word ®. PrintControl integrated in the Microsoft ® Windows printing subsystem works with a wide range of applications. This allows marking up not only text documents but also graphs, sketches, drawings, and graphic images.

PrintControl has flexible settings for each printer separately: you can change the content and format of markup information, you can set a folder to store document images in, you can limit the number of stored document pages, you can specify a list of controlled phrases, etc.

Reference documents regulating information security field, include requirements for registration and marking up printed documents that contain confidential information. PrintControl was developed in line with these requirements.

Functional features
