Rustam Minnikhanov: Information Technologies and their implementation are not just a tribute to fashion but one of the most actual areas of today’s business
Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, met the members of the ICL-KME CS Board of Directors. The meeting was held in the RT House of Government. The discussion was about the Company’s development prospects in the IT market, both in the Republic of Tatarstan and in Russia.
Greeting the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov characterized ICL-KME CS as a company holding a substantial share of the Republic’s high-technology market and one of the IT Park’s anchor enterprises. It now needs new tasks, he added. Niamh Spelman, the Chairman of the ICL-KME CS Board of Directors, in her turn, informed the President about the Board meeting the day before that had discussed the Company’s development prospects. According to her, developing high technologies is nowadays attached great importance to, both in Russia and Tatarstan. High technologies are in demand from both the state authorities and individuals.
The expertise of Fujitsu that ICL-KME CS is integrated with will provide access to the world’s newest technologies and inventions, Niamh Spelman said. The Tatarstan’s IT market, as explained by Niamh Spelman, can therefore see an influx of state-of-the-art technologies and software products.
Niamh Spelman also suggested discussing implementation and development of innovative technologies in various economy branches in the Republic. Fujitsu is interested in closer cooperation in the area, she said.
Victor Diachkov, the General Director of ICL-KME CS, briefed the Tatarstan President on the Company’s business and its results in 2009 and in the first quarter of 2010. The Company’s personnel are 1,250 people, 750 of whom are engaged in software development. The average monthly salary is over 35 thousand RUB. The revenue in 2009 totaled 1,819 mln RUB. In 2009 the Company paid taxes amounting to 294.018 mln RUB (in 2008 they amounted to 229 mln RUB). Software applications developed by ICL-KME CS’s specialists are installed in more than 50 cities of Russia and used in various areas of human activities.
The main Company’s regional representation offices are in Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Krasnodar, etc., with headquarters in Kazan. Besides, more than 110 support and maintenance centers belonging to the Company are located in Russia (10 of them are located in the Republic of Tatarstan). Export software development is also one of important activities of ICL-KME CS.
22 percent of ICL-KME CS’s goods and services are sold in Russia, 19.8 percent — in Tatarstan, 10 percent are exported, while 20 percent are Gazprom orders.
Rustam Minnikhanov spoke about the fast growth of the IT market and Tatarstan’s great interest in its development. The Republic’s intellectual potential and the existing higher educational institutions allow training of highly qualified IT specialists, he enhanced. “We have made the decision to establish a strong IT cluster in the Republic,” noted Minnikhanov. “The ICL KME CS is to play an important role in it. The Company should meat the challenges and focus on increasing its market share in Russia and abroad,» the RT President advised.
