ICL-KME CS and Check Point: Results of the Workshop on Information Security Solutions
The workshop, Information Security Solutions Complying to Russian Legislation, Regulatory and Legal Acts for Personal Data Protection, was held in Surgut on March 11. The workshop was hosted by ICL-KME CS and Check Point Software Technologies, a worldwide leader in securing the Internet.
The focal point of the event was personal data security. Building personal data protection systems becomes a high priority issue due to a Federal Law No. 152-FZ «On Personal Data» that comes into effect on January 1, 2011. In accordance with this law all personal data information systems should conform to requirements established by GNIII PTZI FSTEC of Russia (State Experimental and Proving Establishment for Problems of Technical Protection of Information under Federal Service for Technical and Export Control).
Among the workshop participants were representatives of the largest oil and gas companies and financial institutions of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District who have traditionally faced the challenging issue of IT security.
The first part of the event was dedicated to the legislative requirements for personal data information systems as well as to the practical issues of building personal data protection systems.
